What a night

I'm writing from a cot in the recovery room at Cook Children's Hospital. Reagan had emergency surgery last night on her left knee. She has had a fever all week and we thought it was due to her cutting a new tooth on top, but we discovered yesterday morning that she had a bad infection in her blood that settled into her knee. They consider this an emergency because if the infection sits in her joint too long it can cause permanent damage. Last night they put her all the way under and made an incision on her knee to clean it all out and then put in a drain to help it keep from coming back. The really bad part is that she has to have iv antibiotics for at least the next 5 days. So that means we will be here for at least that long. She's doing well now and sleeping a lot. They have her on several different pain medications and a couple different antibiotics. I didn't get much sleep last night, so my brain is struggling to write this, but I promise to get more detailed either later today or tomorrow. Please be prayerful for our little girl. It's very scary for a baby that little to have to have surgery. Also, it is possible for her to have to go back into surgery if it starts to fill back up with puss. We REALLY don't want that, so please pray for a speedy recovery!
